Act 3 Iago is bad..... (Iago speaking to Roderigo)

1. What is Iago trying to make other people think?  

Iago wants people to think Othello as a beast which should be destroyed. He wants other to think negative about Othello and support Iago to remove Othello from his General status and make Iago as the General of Italy.


2. What tactics does Iago rely on to make his victims believe him?

Iago uses racism to make others feel negative on Othello. Most of tactics Iago uses are racism to describe Othello since the race is only thing that Iago think he is better that Othello. He also uses nationalism like describing Othello as barbaric Turkish man of African who should be removed from sacred place: Italy.


P.S. ::: This is Haitian general who is famous as the first Black formal general even he fought against white people.

Act 1 scene 1
Now, sir, be judge yourself, Whether I in any just term am affined To love the Moor.

Iago says this line to Brabantio to get help from Brabantio to separate Othello and desdemona.

It is as sure as you are Roderigo, 
Were I the Moor, I would not be Iago: 
In following him, I follow but myself; 

Iago says this line to Roderigo to tell him that he follows Othello to serve him self not to show respect to Othello.

Look to her, Moor, if thou hast eyes to see: 
She has deceived her father, and may thee.

Othello say this line to Brabantio to explain his feeling about Brabantio's daughter.

1. Why do Iago, Roderigo, and Brabantio all hate Othello (the Moor)? 


Because Othello is black man who has everything. He is a general so they can't say anything in front of him. Othello has a wife who is white and daughter of Brabantio. Lago and Roderigo kept thought about it is bad that white woman and black man shouldn't be together.


3. Given the way they are talking about him, what kind of a person would you expect Othello to be?

They talk about him like he was a beast or animal. Because of racism and jealousy, Lago and Roderigo tell Brabantio that Brabantio's daughter is having a sexual act with black beast which is Othello...

Mini Othello

Kim, who is from Korea, recently gets girl friend Lee who is from china, daughter of Chinese business man. And there is Park who is from China hates Kim since Park and Lee fell in love and Park love Lee since they became friend. Park and Kim lives in same house that Kim’s father and Park’s father bought. Hong is another guy from China who thinks he is very handsome. One day, Kim comes back from soccer club and meets up with Park in the living room.

“Hey!” says Park, “How was your soccer practice?”

“It was hard.” Kim takes his shoes off.

“Kim, why you didn't bring me to the tea café?”

“What do you mean by the tea cafe? I didn’t go to the tea café.”

“What? You didn’t go to the tea café? I thought you went there with your girl friend Lee and Hong!” says Park with fake surprising face.

“Wait, did Hong go to tea café with Lee?”

“Why? You didn’t knew that? I even saw they are holding hands while they were in the tea café…”

“Are you sure you are telling me truth, because if you are lying, I would kick your face with kung fu style.”

“Hey why should I lie to you my brother…”

Kim runs to Lee’s house

“Lee! I heard everything! What is going on?” Kim screams at Lee.

“What are you talking about?” says Lee.

“You know what I am talking about! What did you do with Hong in the tea café when I was having a soccer practice?”

“Hey smart mouth! I was in my home watching ‘America’s Funniest Home video’ while you are at soccer practice!”

“Then why Park says that he saw you and Hong together in the tea café?”

“I have no idea who the heck is Park and I will appreciate if you don’t talk to me with that tone.

“I’m sorry Lee… Park must have lie to me. See you tomorrow..”

“Whatever, get out of my house!”

BODY1

In this scene, Gordie who is main character obtains and shoot a gun from Chris who is Gordie’s best friend. Chris brings Gordie to dark alley and made Gordie to grab a pistol from garbage can. Chris encouraged Gordie to point the gun towards garbage can. Gordie squeezed the trigger and didn’t noticed that gun was loaded. Gordie shoots gun right at one of metal trash can.After Gordie shoot at one of the trash can, he felt pain in his wrist by recoil from .45. After Gordie shot, Chris screamed in the alley saying “Hey, Gordon Lachance is shooting up Castle Rock!” and being proud of his friend shot a gun. After they shot a gun, they ran as fast as they could. However, one lady saw Gordie, but Chris told Gordie to not to worry. After they ran from the alley, they meet up with Teddy who is another friend of Gordie. Teddy set up the camp for hanging out at night with Gordie and Chris.

Eugene Yoon

My name is Eugene Yoon. I'm from South Korea. I was in Mr. Parsons class last year. I came to America five years ago. When I came here for first time, I couldn't speak English at all. However, since I stayed in here for almost five years, now English became less hard. Despite me staying in America for five years, there are so many things to study. Just like SAT vocabularies and college level grammar, there are so many things to study in so little time. When I first got here I couldn’t speak English at all. In that time, I thought in order to fix this problem; I started my personal project call ‘English All Day’ (speaking only English even to Korean (my native language) speaker). Although it was very hard to speak English only for my entire day, the result of this project was much more valuable than what I was expected. After few years from when I started this project, my English skill got much better. I could speak English without break or mistake and most of native English speakers could understand what I am saying. When I could speak English like native English speakers, I could learn new SAT vocabularies much faster. Also, as my pronunciation get better, my grammar skills got better automatically. Since I finished the Basic English skill, for this year, I want to be better English speaker than native, proving that foreigners can speak better English than native speakers. Also, in this winter, I am planning on taking SAT test and get higher grade than most of American people (over 2000). This year for me can be hardest year in high school since I have to get good grade and prepare for SAT and SAT2 tests, however, just like my first year in America, I am sure I can do well in this year.

April Love By Ernest Dowson

We have walked in Love's land a little way,

We have learnt his lesson a little while,

And shall we not part at the end of day,

With a sigh, a smile?

A little while in the shine of the sun,

We were twined together, joined lips, forgot

How the shadows fall when the day is done,

   In this poem, i personally think this poem explains the relationship between Daisy and Gatsby. When first they meet after 5years, Gatsby felt even the day is over, love is not. This small quote in this poem, just explains the feeling that Gatsby felt after they meet again and stayed together. Also the term ‘So shall we not part at the end of day,’ shows that their love shouldn’t be over until the end of April love. The term April love shows that lovers wait until April and during the short period time, they love intensively. Like the term in the poem ‘Who have loved and lingered a little while, Join lips for the last time, go our way, With a sigh, a smile?’ Gatsby and Daisy could not stay together longer just like April love. And even the time Gatsby and Daisy separates, they kept their smile like ‘April lover”.
