April Love By Ernest Dowson

We have walked in Love's land a little way,

We have learnt his lesson a little while,

And shall we not part at the end of day,

With a sigh, a smile?

A little while in the shine of the sun,

We were twined together, joined lips, forgot

How the shadows fall when the day is done,

And when Love is not.

We have made no vows--there will none be broke,

Our love was free as the wind on the hill,

There was no word said we need wish unspoke,

We have wrought no ill.

So shall we not part at the end of day,

Who have loved and lingered a little while,

Join lips for the last time, go our way,

With a sigh, a smile?

   In this poem, i personally think this poem explains the relationship between Daisy and Gatsby. When first they meet after 5years, Gatsby felt even the day is over, love is not. This small quote in this poem, just explains the feeling that Gatsby felt after they meet again and stayed together. Also the term ‘So shall we not part at the end of day,’ shows that their love shouldn’t be over until the end of April love. The term April love shows that lovers wait until April and during the short period time, they love intensively. Like the term in the poem ‘Who have loved and lingered a little while, Join lips for the last time, go our way, With a sigh, a smile?’ Gatsby and Daisy could not stay together longer just like April love. And even the time Gatsby and Daisy separates, they kept their smile like ‘April lover”.

I personally agree with this term. For example, if second war happens, I will fight North Korean communism bastards until I die. Even I die in the war, I will be remembered as the great worrior of South Korea who died for his country. In my opinion, it is better to live long life than live dynamic and honorable life whith everyone will remember me. Of course it is great to live for long, but if no one remembers me, I will be useless man. Also, I will do everything to protect my motherland and my Yoon family. Some Americans should be shame to be coward and not join the U.S. army to fight off the terrorists. Cowards should join the army and be proud to protect their lovers. In South Korea, joining army is mandetory. Everyman in South Korea goes to army and trains to become the great worrior of South Korea. And cowards are being beaten by others. American people really shouldn't be coward. Most of American men don't sign up for army. I'm very disappointed on American people who don't sing up for army. I thought America was country of justice and hero of other countries. And you Mr. Parsons, you should join the army to protect your motherland.

Creative

In this picture, we can see a baby mouse holding a rifle. During the world war 1, a lot of recruit were young man who had the dream to become the war hero. the baby mouse in the picture shows us mouse is confused by the meaning of the rifle. During world war 1 and 2, there were lots of parents who wish to raise their children as war hero. Those parents send their kids to the military schools and train them to become soldier.

All Quiet On The Western Front Last

During the chapter 10-12, Paul and Muller go to hospital becuase of Muller's injury. In the hospital, Pual finds the truth of the war. Also, he found out German is loosing the war and the government is keep trying to courage the civiliens to join the army. The quote "I won't go to the Dying Room" explains, Muller is trying to not to die. But, because of his injury, Muller died in pain that he even decided to shot himself which is the only way to reduce his pain. In the hospital, Paul recive a boots from Muller. The boots were the one Kemmerich passed to Paul and Paul gave to Muller.

A brilliance takes up residence in flaws—

a brilliance all the unchipped faces of design

refuse. The wine collects its starlets

at a lip's fault, sunlight where the nicked

glass angles, and affection where the eye

is least correctable, where arrows of

unquivered light are lodged, where someone

else's eyes have come to be concerned.

For beauty's sake, assault and drive and burn

the devil from the simply perfect sun.

Demand a birthmark on the skin of love,

a tremble in the touch, in come a cry,

and let the silverware of nights be flecked,

the moon pocked to distribute more or less

indwelling alloys of its dim and shine

by nip and tuck, by chance's dance of laws.

The brightness drawn and quartered on a sheet,

the moment cracked upon a bed, will last

as if you soldered them with moon and flux.

And break the bottle of the eye to see

what lights are spun of accident and glass.

 

This poem describe about pain. During the war, people feel pain. Expecially, young soldiers who don't know the truth of war feel the pain after or during the fight. Also, when order people look at the younger people, order people feel pain because most of younger people who don't know the truth of war dies in the battlefield. In my opinon, the word pain describes war very well. Pain from lossing friends and killing another people are very pitiful. In this poem, the writer is trying to describe the beginning of the pain.

PAUL

When Paul went back to his home, he found that nobody could understand about his feeling. Also people in his town kept their unrealistic opinions about the war. Expecially Paul's father thought that war is very cool and honorable. When I first time to study in America as student, people in South Korea thought that it is very easy to study in America. But after I spended few monthes in America, I had to suffer the racisms in New Jersey. People didn't liked me becuase I was Asian and they didn't wanted to cooperate with me becuase I couldn't speak English very well. When I went back to Korea, my parents and neverhoods thought it is very easy to stay in America. And their thoughts about staying in America by themselves made me felt very uncomfortable. Paul's experiance were very fearful. When people don't understand Pual's feeling, Pual felt very uncomfortable.

Also, this tells audience that if man delays his joining the army is very dangerous to the country . This poster made lots of British men to join the army of the England.



B: This poster was very effective to brave people who want to become honorable and very glory. Also this poster kind of showing the Army of England is based on honor of the Great Island which stayed strong in all time. This poster made men to join the army much quicker. Becuase this poster England could stand from German's attack.
